Bamboo Bikes is based in Brunswick, Melbourne, Australia. It’s part of a teeny-tiny cycling brand, that exists currently to serve as a catchy name for itself: Cognitive Cycles. It’s kinda fun.
Common folklore says it started in April 2010 when Mik Efford decided he’d had enough of sitting in front of computers all day designing websites and wanted a more tangible and satisfying job making things he loves. So he’s turned his mind to bikes, to keep both their cogs turning, and hopes to create bikes that are renewable, beautiful and functional.
He’s now gone on to study Industrial Design full-time at RMIT, with the hope of learning more about manufacturing processes and applying what he’s done with bikes to other things.
